That means wearing a helmet and following local traffic laws. Like any travel insurance, cover is provided according to the policy terms, so it won’t apply in situations such as riding under the influence or breaking traffic regulations.
Can I buy LUMA travel insurance after I arrive in Vietnam?
No, coverage must start before your trip begins. It has to be purchased before departure for full protection.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my trip before it starts?
Yes. If your policy hasn’t started yet and no claims have been made, you’re eligible for a full refund. Once the policy has begun, however, refunds are no longer possible.
How can I submit a claim?
Please refer to the confirmation email you received after purchasing your policy. It includes detailed instructions on how and where to submit your claim, along with the required claims form and a list of supporting documents you’ll need to provide.

You’re free to visit any hospital or clinic in Vietnam.
For the smoothest trip in Vietnam, we recommend knowing in advance where to go if you’ll be in remote areas, as smaller facilities may have limited English-speaking staff. Our team can help guide you to suitable options if you need care during your trip.
Will I have to pay out of pocket for medical treatment?
For most treatments, you’ll need to pay upfront and submit your claim for reimbursement.
For larger bills over USD 1,000, we can arrange assistance and direct billing with the hospital whenever possible, subject to prior review and approval.
What’s the maximum trip duration covered?
Up to 180 consecutive days per policy.
